Kara Vogt started working in the food and beverage industry as a dishwasher for summer camps. After high school, she went to university to study sport psychology; however, after a couple of years, she pivoted to study culinary arts and worked at Red Robin in Olympia, WA. Over the years, she has worked in several places as a server, manager, barista, cook, caterer, mortgage lender, and now restaurant owner. Kara opened The Village Bistro in 2016, acquired Eatz Pizzeria in 2024 and partnered to bring Barracuda Coffee Company back in 2025.
The hospitality industry is where Kara feels most at home. Growing up, family gatherings were always enjoyed with really good food, made by many family members. Coming together around the table or on the patio by the pool with delicious homemade food helped shape some of the best times and memories. That is the mission for Kara with the various places, crafting delicious food or beverages, where people feel at home and enjoy gathering together.
